Is it ok to seperate cats who have been living together?

The cat needs a steady home. If this will continue to happen it may be wise to leave him with mom. If you think that he will miss you and you are his provider and spend more time with him than anyone else in the household take him with you, but if he is now a family cat, leave him with mom.
