Why do so many movie adaptations turn or try to turn feminine characters into warrior women?

they do it so the films will appeal to a wider audience (aka not just men) & *make more money* which is all most movie makers care about... Tho not all of them feel that way.. peter jackson was a huge lotr fan before he made the movies & only put arwen in the films more to a) have more women characters (if u count, there's only 4 main female characters in the whole jackson trilogy: arwen; eowyn; galadriel; rosie cotten-thats 4 against thousands of men!) & b) to draw out arwen & aragorn's love story to create a better understanding into aragorn's psyche (& thus motives) for the sake of the audience & c) to interest people who werent already fans of the books & who would might have found the orig. story & all its other male characters too hard to keep track of & maybe even boring...(most people find fellowship too boring already) Not to mention the fact that the fantasy/scifi/adventure/action films are sterotypcally male genres...& a lot of film makers want to buff up the female roles enable to intice women t
