Opinions on 1996 Ford Probe?

I'm about to turn 16 and I am looking for a reliable cheap car. When I was younger my family had a Probe and I absolutely loved the car. But I really dont know much about it and I would appreciate some opinions. Would that not be a wise choice for a first car? and if so do you have any recommendations?
