Why are SO MANY questions deleted from Yahoo answers?

It's mostly done because they violate the Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. As for who reported them, it's the trusted members of this community. Their reports caused their deletion. This can also result in the suspension of the users' accounts as well. If you feel the rules are way too strict for you, then stop using this service right now. Sorry, but that's the way things work here.
